Description
This 7.5" Monochrome ePaper Display offers an 800x480 active area, 1-bit white/black imaging, superior contrast, reflective performance, an expansive viewing angle, and low power consumption. It runs over a commercial temperature range, supports both landscape and portrait modes, and is built with a COG package IC, plus on-chip RAM and waveform stored in OTP. Finally, an SPI is available with an onboard oscillator, booster, and regulator for precise VCOM, Gate, and Source voltage generation.
What is an E-Paper?
E-Paper, also known as Electronic Paper, is a display technology that replicates the look of paper and ink. It features significant contrast, improved readability in diverse lighting, plus no need of a backlight. This is made possible by the action of tiny charged particles, floating in liquid, in microcapsules that change location when an electric field is applied. This produces varying hues for the viewer. As a result, E-Paper is favored in energy-saving and legible apps such as e-readers, electronic shelf labels, smartwatches, and more.
Advantages Over Traditional Displays
E-Paper displays provide advantages compared to standard displays, such as readability similar to paper, sunlight legibility, reduced energy utilization, thin design, wide viewing angles, and extended battery life-spans. These displays lend themselves to portable devices and settings where low glare and energy-efficiency are important
